Answers to Questions About MatMice
- Yes! This is (and always will be) a free service. There is no charge to you to make your own homepage at MatMice.
- The website was made by three sisters from Australia - Emily, Sarah, and Elise - and was made without any adult assistance whatsoever. Emily is 22, Sarah is 20, and Elise is 16 years old. You can read more about the girls in the about section.
- The website was written in HTML and the programming language Perl using a simple text editor. Graphics like the mouse wrapped in the mat were drawn by hand and then scanned in, and photographs were also scanned. We used Paint Shop Pro, Adobe Photoshop, and Animagic GIF Animator for editing graphics. The entire website took about 8 months to develop, from the initial idea through to the finished site you see now.
